Parking and Transportation
There is a commuter parking lot on the east side of M-52 just north of I-94. Municipal parking lots downtown provide free 3-hour customer parking, with longer spots available for downtown workers and shop owners.
ExpressRide Chelsea. TheRide operates a weekday commuter bus service between Chelsea and Ann Arbor and Canton and Ann Arbor. Fares: $125/month, in advance. A 10-ride ticket is available for $62.50, or riders can pay $6.25 cash per ride. ExpressRide 30-day passes can be purchased at the Blake Transit Center, TheRide's main office, the U-M parking office at 523 S. Division, the University Hospital cashier's office on the 2nd floor, or any Bank of Ann Arbor location. Discounted 30-day passes available to eligible riders. In the event of an emergency, TheRide will reimburse ExpressRide Commuter pass holders for a cab ride back to Chelsea or Canton. theride.org
iShareaRide (TheRide). A free service to help commuters who work in Washtenaw County form vanpools and carpools. Computerized matching is available at iShareaRide.org

Bus and van transportation available to all. Personal care attendants and children 4 & under with parents ride free. Chelsea's Community Ride (CCR). Free shuttle service. Stops include Washington Street Education Center (WSEC), library, Chelsea Retirement Community, Polly's grocery, and Chelsea Wellness Center. Door-to-door service operates Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Fare: 1-way $2.50-$6 depending on location; half price for seniors ages 65 & over, persons with disabilities, students with ID, and AAATA Fare Deal card holders. Same day service sometimes available; advanced reservations recommended. Reservation line open Mon.-Fri. 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Operates the Inter-Urban Express Route connects Chelsea, Dexter, and Ann Arbor. Runs 7 days per week (except holidays) from 6:09 a.m.-7:09 p.m. (Mon.-Fri.), 7:45 a.m.-8:25 p.m. (Sat.), 8:45 a.m.-7:25 p.m. (Sun.). Schedules at ridethewavebus.org. Lifeline Van offers a county-wide door-to-door van service for western Washtenaw County travelers. Hours: Mon-Fri. 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (with some flexibility). Destinations include all area hospitals, Briarwood mall, area events and festivals, car dealerships, MI Works Job Center. $20 one-way; seniors ages 65 & over $10.
